1. Who we are

Veripher ("we", "us", "our") operates the Veripher website and services. This policy explains what personal data we collect, why we collect it, how we use it, and what rights you have.

Password (hashed)	To secure your account. We store only a one-way cryptographic hash — we never store or see your actual password.
Wallet balance and transaction history	To operate the prepaid wallet, process purchases, and provide refunds.
Order records (service, country, temporary number, timestamps)	To deliver the service, provide support, handle refunds, and detect abuse.
Verification codes (SMS content)	To display the code to you. See "Retention" below.
Payment references from processors	To confirm top-ups and reconcile payments.
Technical data (IP address, browser type, timestamps)	Security, fraud prevention, and service reliability.
Identity documents (only if requested)	Where required for fraud prevention, compliance, or higher-value transactions.

We do not collect or store your card details or cryptocurrency wallet private keys. Payments are handled by third-party processors.

3. Legal bases for processing

Where applicable data protection law requires a legal basis for processing, we rely on:

• Performance of a contract — to provide the Service you signed up for;
• Legitimate interests — to secure the Service, prevent fraud and abuse, and improve reliability;
• Legal obligation — where we must retain or disclose data by law;
• Consent — where we ask for it, such as optional communications. You may withdraw consent at any time.

4. How we use your data

• To create and manage your account and wallet;
• To source and deliver temporary numbers and verification codes;
• To process top-ups, purchases, and refunds;
• To provide customer support;
• To detect, investigate, and prevent fraud, abuse, and prohibited use;
• To comply with legal obligations and respond to lawful requests;
• To maintain and improve the security and performance of the Service.

We do not use your data for automated decision-making that produces legal effects, other than automated fraud and abuse checks that may restrict access to the Service.

5. Who we share data with

We share only what is necessary, with:

• Telecommunications suppliers — to source numbers and receive codes. They receive service and country requests, not your identity;
• Payment processors — to process top-ups. They handle payment data under their own privacy policies;
• Infrastructure providers — hosting and security services that process data on our behalf under contract;
• Authorities — where we are legally required to disclose, or where necessary to investigate fraud or protect rights and safety.

We do not sell your personal data, and we do not share it with advertisers.

6. International transfers

Our suppliers and infrastructure providers may be located outside your country. Where we transfer personal data internationally, we take reasonable steps to ensure an appropriate level of protection, including contractual safeguards with our processors.

7. Retention

We keep personal data only as long as needed for the purposes described above:

• Verification codes and SMS content — retained only briefly to display the code to you, then deleted or anonymised on a short cycle;
• Order and transaction records — retained for accounting, dispute resolution, and fraud prevention, typically for up to six (6) years where required by law;
• Account data — retained while your account is active, and for a limited period afterwards to handle disputes and meet legal obligations;
• Technical logs — retained for a short period for security purposes.

8. Security

We use industry-standard measures to protect your data, including encrypted connections (HTTPS), one-way password hashing, restricted access to systems, and secure storage of credentials. No system is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security. If we become aware of a breach affecting your personal data, we will notify you and any relevant regulator as required by law.

9. Your rights

Depending on where you live, you may have the right to:

• Access the personal data we hold about you;
• Correct inaccurate or incomplete data;
• Request deletion of your data, subject to our legal retention obligations;
• Object to or restrict certain processing;
• Receive a copy of your data in a portable format;
• Withdraw consent where processing is based on consent;
• Lodge a complaint with your local data protection authority.

10. Cookies and local storage

We use essential browser storage to keep you signed in and to operate the Service. These are strictly necessary for the site to function. We do not use advertising or third-party tracking cookies.

11. Children

The Service is not intended for anyone under 18. We do not knowingly collect personal data from children. If we learn that we have collected data from a child, we will delete it.

12. Important note about temporary numbers

Temporary numbers are shared, recycled resources. Any SMS sent to a number you are assigned may be visible to you during your session, and numbers may later be assigned to other users. Never use a temporary number for banking, payment, government, healthcare, or any account containing sensitive personal or financial information, and never treat a temporary number as a private or permanent line.

We may update this policy from time to time. We will update the "Last updated" date above and, where changes are material, take reasonable steps to notify you.
